The Green Police is a garage/punk rock band from Claremore and Verdigris, Oklahoma. Roswell, GA – April 07, 2009 – Greentree Health Science Academy in Hamilton, Ohio proudly teaches Workplace Spanish® after two of their students assisted EMT personnel at the scene of an accident of non-English speaking Latinos.

Emily Anderson and Emily Ulrich were driving to school when they saw a car swerve and slam into a guardrail right in front of them. The victims were non-English speaking Latino women. Anderson and Ulrich had taken Workplace Spanish® for HealthCare at Greentree Health Science Academy, which proved to be just what was needed. They assisted the EMT to find out the women’s vital information and where they were hurt.

The Socialists had earlier agreed to support a move by the IU-ICV, a coalition of leftist and Green parties, to introduce the measure “to curb the abuse of taxation privileges of elite footballers.”

The law, first conceived to aid foreign business investment, allows foreign footballers playing in Spain to be taxed on only 24 percent of their income, instead of 43 percent for other Spaniards in the same income bracket.

It is popularly know as the “Beckham law”, after English footballing icon David Beckham, who was the first to benefit after his arrival at Real Madrid in 2003.

But Socialist Party spokesperson Jose Antonio Alonso said later on Tuesday that it was withdrawing its support for the motion to end the “Beckham law” due to IU-ICV’s decision not to back the government in a budget vote next Thursday.

The Socialist Party does not have an absolute majority and must rely on smaller parties to pass legislation.

The IU-ICV had called for the “Beckham law” to be withdrawn after the news of the world record 93-million-euro transfer fee paid by Real to Manchester United for Portuguese striker Ronaldo earlier this month, and the player’s reported annual salary of €12-million.

Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero had described those amounts as “excessive.”

When buying s property on a Spanish housing estate you will automatically become member of a Community of Property Owners (comunidad de propietarious). You will have a right to vote at the annual general meeting and an obligation to pay the yearly fees. The only owners who do not belong are those who have bought a normal house in a village street or a country home with a large tract of land.

Comunidads maintain the grounds, installations and buildings in attractive order at a yearly cost to the members. This can add millions of pesetas of value to an ordinary house.

Some are quarrelsome however, and can leave necessary upkeep whilst your funds mysteriously disappear and debts are run up.

Therefore there are issues on this matter which, before buying the property, you should check:

Can I see the comunidad statutes?

Ask your seller, the administator of the comunidad, or the real estate promoter of a new building, for a copy of the statutes. This will give you inform on what you regulations you must abide by: i.e no dogs allowed etc.

How much must I pay every year?
Ask the seller for the receipt for paid-up comunidad fees. By law, he is obliged to provide this or an account of how much he owes. Then you can see the fee which has to be paid (determined by your percentage of the comunidad value).
If the receipt is unavailable, you can visit the administrator of the comunidad who will be able to tell you.

Are the fees paid up?
Spain’s law of 1999 requires the seller to produce a certificate from the president of the comunidad stating that the property’s fees are either paid up, or to give the amount of the debt owed.
The seller of the property should arrange for this. The buyer can be held liable only for the comunidad fees of the current and previous year.

Does the comunidad have debts?

If money needs to be borrowed in order to pay for repairs on the building you will assume your percentage of this debt when becoming a member. For example, if extra payments were agreed upon to pay for a pool, you would take on these extra fees when becoming the owner. A good idea would be to study the minutes of the comunidad AGM from the president or administrator. This should inform you of any such developments.

Does the comunidad legally exist?

It is required by Spanish law that they legally exist, but some do not have a legal existence.
If it does not yet legally exist or is not properly registered, you will sooner or later have to sort out, either in the formation of the comunidad or in making it a legal body.
Unless these associations of owners are registered and the new buyers agree in their contracts to abide by the statutes, their rules may not be legally enforceable.

The Spanish healthcare in Spain, public health, health care free or at low cost when you pay Social Security (families and retirees are also included). Like many other countries, however, public health care waiting lists to see specialists and for non-urgent operations.

If you are not entitled to public health it is important that the private health insurance can not be allowed in the country without them. Even if you are under the public health, it is recommended (if you can afford) to have private health insurance to skip waiting lists and treatment quickly. The most popular private health insurance Adeslas and Sanitas.

Spanish hospitals: In general, larger cities have the best hospitals, characterized by the following characters with a large white “H” or look in the Yellow Pages to hospitals.

When they participate in a hospital (except in emergencies) you must have a social card, proof of private health insurance or proof of ability to pay the bills. If the insurance does not pay directly to the hospital, then you must also pay (credit cards are usually acceptable) and claim that the insurance at a later date.

Spanish doctors: The system of training of doctors in Spain is very different from those in North America. As in Europe, doctors receive their training as students of the university. With health, you are usually with a doctor where you live, if you map the social security. With insurance, you will have the opportunity to have a primary care doctor in connection with your plan. There are a number of doctors in Spain who speak English, especially in cities and resort areas, including the doctors who study in English-speaking countries. Embassies and Consulates are usually lists of doctors.

Spanish pharmacies: Many medicines, including antibiotics, that require a prescription in other countries can be downloaded directly from pharmacists without prescription in Spain. For the medication if a prescription is needed, if a prescription from a doctor you can use the drugs or medicines from the pharmacy that the sign of a green cross. Most pharmacies are 09:30 to 13:30 and 16:30 to 20:00 clock from Monday to Saturday. Outside these hours a message from the nearest pharmacy after 20.00 hours. There are 24-hour pharmacies in all cities, pharmacists have a red light on the pharmacy sign.
