what’s in your mind if I mentioned one word: Washington D.C.? maybe one thing is for sure you already know is that washington dc is the capital city of the united states, one of the largest cities in the world and the central of the united states government. Besides that, the city is also one of a fairly popular tourist destination. Many things you will find in this town they are generally in the form of historical tourism or some other related to it, you’ll see many magnificent historical buildings, with diverse architecture styles, as well as modern buildings.

Favourite object on washington dc in my opinion is about a great historical adventure which you can start through the popular Smithsonian museums, they are on many subjects from art, history, to aerospace. You’ll find more info about museums dc on this site.
There are lots of countries around the world to visit, and most of us won’t be able to visit them all. This means that we will have to prioritize the best places we want to travel to. Spain is a popular holiday destination, but is it really worth visiting? For those of us with limited budgets and time, how high on our list of places to visit should we put Spain. The following are just my views, and in no way represent the views of the Spanish Tourist Board – or probably any Spanish person.

Spain has a lot of old buildings and a long history. If you are interested in the past then you will certainly be spoilt for choice in this country. Spain has been influenced by many different cultures. It is the closest European country to Africa, and it was once ruled by Muslim invaders. It was also invaded by the Germans, the French, and anyone else who happened to be in the area. Despite this they become one of the major world powers during the sixteenth and seventieth century. It is now one of the most powerful countries in Europe. If you visit Spain you will see plenty of evidence of their history and the mix of cultures that make the country what it is. Due to the fact that Spain has been the home of so many diverse groups it now has a culture that is a hybrid of all these influences. Different areas of the country have their own unique culture

As well as having lots of architecture of historical interest this is also a really modern country. Spain has the ninth largest economy on the planet. It is a member of the European Union and uses the Euro as its currency. If you visit the big cities like Barcelona or Madrid you will find all that you would expect to see in a modern city.

Spain offers a really diverse climate. If you go down south you can enjoy a Mediterranean climate and if that is not hot enough for you there is also the option to travel to one of the Canary Islands where you can enjoy a sub-tropical climate. If you love the beach and the sun then you will not be disappointed in Spain. It is the second most popular tourist destination in the world and a lot of this has to do with the great beaches. In the north of the country you will find an Oceanic climate which offers cold winters and summers that don’t get too hot; this is similar to the climate you would find in places like the UK and Ireland.

So why would anyone want to visit Spain? Well, it does seem to offer quite a few nice things for the traveler. If you are interested in culture or history then it seems well worth a visit. If you like the beach in sun then this too seems readily available. This is the second most visited country on the planet so it would seem worthwhile to go visit and see what all the fuss is about.

To learn Spanish then you need to learn the Spanish alphabet. Although it’s not dramatically different from the English alphabet, there are still some real differences. You also will have to learn how to properly pronounce these letter before you are ready to really get to the nitty gritty of the language. When you visit Spain you’ll be so happy you know a few words!

Rules and punctuation in the Spanish alphabet are different from the English one, as well. There is a combination of Latin and Arabic that can be seen in Spanish. If you are familiar with either of these languages or any other Romance language such as French, Portuguese, or Italian than you will have an easier time learning Spanish.

Here are a few differences in the Spanish alphabet:

Spanish uses vowels that have accents, although not all have accents.

The vowels with accents are pronounced slightly differently than those without accents.

You can use the letter n either with or without a tilde.

The n with a tilde is a different letter than the without a tilde.

Ll and ch are also separate letters in the Spanish language.

If you are an English speaker than the pronunciation will be different, but not impossible for you. For instance you can pronounce the letter C like a K or an S just like you do in English. These similarities should help you in your studies.

There are other letters that also mimic the sounds you find in English. For instance in Spanish the letter j sounds like an English h. The letter v in Spanish also sounds like the letter b in English. You can hear the English letter S when you say a Spanish letter Z. If you pronounce a rolled r in Spanish this is also a sound that you can hear in English.

In Spanish accents on the vowels are very important because they help to tell the difference between words. The stress is used to mark the words and when you are first learning the language it is important to practice these accents.

You put the stress on the last syllable of a word when you are writing. If the word ends in a consonant then the stress is on the last syllable. There are also exceptions to the rules of this. Sometimes like in other languages the rules are changed and we have to adapt to them.

When you learn the basic rules and exceptions as you learn the language you will have a better grasp of the language as you progress. So in this matter if a word as a stress with an accent on a vowel, then it does not have the automatic default on the consonant.

If you really want to master the Spanish language than understanding the how to properly pronounce every letter of the alphabet is vital to your success. You will be one step closer to fluency if you master the language letter by letter. You can go online for more handy help in becoming fluent in Spanish. There are many websites that offer audio help to master pronunciation.

Madrid as a capital city of a rapidly emerging and highly influential partner within the European Community deserves respect.

It is a wonderful city with highly fascinating people. There are those who sarcastically referred to Madrid as Spain’s second city after Barcelona by and large those are the people that have never really got to know Madrid. Given all that Barcelona has to offer and despite all this to write off the Madrid completely misses the point and at the end of the day it is Madrid that is at the centre of both the road and rail networks in Spain.

Yes the Catalans may praise Barcelona for the creativity and elegance of the city but to regard to Madrid is any less important purely because parts of it might need the old lick of paint is extremely superficial.

Madrid has very much the archetypal continental climate in that it has very cold winters and hot summers which means for those who don’t like extremes in temperatures the spring and autumn are the best times to visit.

There is a great deal to do in Madrid, places to go people to see and amongst the attractions, a royal palace, three internationally renowned art galleries and a great many museums filled with the treasures of the history of Spain.

Madrid as you see is very much a combination and manifestation of its historical past. The thing to remember with Madrid in Spain in general is that it has long been a coveted prize for foreign conquerors down throughout history. This is reflected in the area of La Latina.

This is an area of Madrid often overlooked by visitors and tourists alike but is rich in historical heritage and indeed during medieval times the Plaza la Paja was Madrid’s main square.

When the influence of the Moors declined in Spain, this area of Madrid became know as a moreria which actually means an enclosed ghetto where the Muslims live. Memories of a former age can still be found when you consider some off the place names such as Plaza de la Puerta de Moros and/or the historic architecture.Nowadays as in most cases things have changed and this part of Madrid becomes a party centre for the madrilenos, the people of Madrid later on in the day, every day.

Perhaps one of the most overriding aspects of Madrid would lie with the juxtaposition off the modern international capital city and the apparent “down at heel” and slightly grubby appearance. Mention this to the madrilenos and all they will likely do is shrug, sigh and suggest that there are more important things in life worth bothering about?”

Who is to say they are wrong?

Elsewhere in Madrid you will find Malasana, a quaint cobble stones area stretching north from the city centre.Wonderfully described as possibly being like “the boyfriend or girlfriend you couldn’t bring home to your mother” all human life in Madrid can be found here. With graffiti, posters and street art on virtually every conceivable surface Malasana has an anarchic feel and atmosphere that tells you “this is the place to be at the right time of day”.

The Spanish know how to Party and these can sometimes last all day.

Madrid has an old-fashioned appeal to it that goes beyond the chaotic and anarchic initial impressions. Peel back the flaking paint and go beyond the many tourists spots and you will find a city that you will fall in love with for many a year.

Madrid is not to be missed.

Madrid, Spain’s capital, deserves respect having struggled hard to establish itself over the years throughout the troubled history of Spain.

Madrid is fascinating, highly intriguing with wonderfully interesting people. There are those who sarcastically referred to Madrid as Spain’s second city after Barcelona by and large those are the people that have never really got to know Madrid. Now I know Barcelona has the Cathedral, the Nou Camp Stadium and was the venue for the most recent Olympic Games to be held in Spain but to write Madrid off as Spain’s second city seems to miss the point completely.

Madrid has a great many attractions of which a royal palace, many grand public squares, three internationally renowned art galleries, and a great many museums filled with the treasures of the long and glorious history of Spain.

Madrid like many international cities and probably more than most reflects in sections its historical past. Now we have to remember here that this was a major European city that for 400 years lay under the rule of North African influence, namely that of the Moors.

The trouble is as far as perennial party goers will tell you, in this part of Madrid it is sometimes party time all of the day.

There is an awful lot more to Madrid that initial impressions would indicate. Peel back the flaking paint and go beyond the many tourists spots and you will find a city that you will fall in love with for many a year.

Miss Madrid and it will be your loss.

Travelling to Madrid can be an unforgettable experience. Madrid is the capital of the country and along with Barcelona is the most important city in Spain. Most tourists from abroad will arrive at Madrid Barajas Airport, which is the most important airport in Spain with all conveniences you can expect from a modern airport, especially in the brand new terminal which is exclusively reserved to flight from the nations airline, Iberia.

Obviously you can also arrive by bus, train or car and this will largely depend on where you are coming from. From the airport it is not hard to get into the city centre, as Madrid offers a modern subway network which connects the city from north to south and from east to west.

Madrid is know for its rich culture and has something to offer to everybody, whether you would like to visit the cultural attractions of the city, go shopping or enjoy the famous nightlife of Madrid. If you like art Madrid offers some of the most important museums in the World, with works of art from many different artists. Along with the museums, you can enjoy the traditional Spanish arts of bull-fighting. If you like music and dancing you should visit one of the many tablaos in Madrid. Flamenco shows are mostly aimed at tourists, but there are still places where you can enjoy a spontaneous flamenco session.

Madrid is a city full of interesting places to visit and many of the most important attractions in Madrid are historical buildings and museums. The Royal Palace is also located in Madrid, and visitors can walk around it in guided tours. Madrid is also home to Real Madrid, one of the most famous soccer teams in the World. If you enjoy sports do not forget to visit the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. There are interesting excursions and day trips to Toledo, Salamanca or Segovia, cities with plenty of culture and traditions. Car rental is recommended if you would like to discover these cities on your own.

If you want to hire a car at Madrid airport or in the city centre, there are several car rental car companies who operate at Madrid Barajas airport. There are 4 terminal buildings at Madrid airport, in many cases it is important to advise the car hire company on what flight you are travelling in order to allocate your booking to the correct terminal building. The airport concessionaires in Madrid are Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa, but if you do not need to collect the vehicle at the airport occasionally you can find some very good deals with other car hire companies in the city centre as car hire is very competitive in Spain.

Like in any mayor city it is always a good idea to not leave anything of value in your hire car. Just take it with you or put anything you do have to leave out of sight. A public car park can be a safer alternative than leaving your car in the street but check the prices before you enter, it may end up very expensive. If your hotel has got a car park check the prices with the reception, sometimes you may be better of using the public transport rather than your rental car.
